Netflix can wait. It is game night.

Charades, Taboo, Telepathy, Find the Mole and more, on your TV with everyone playing from their phones. Or skip the phones and run it from one screen while the room shouts the answers. No apps, no printing, no arguments about the rules.

Taboo

Round 2 of 6

0:23
Someone else is watching for slip-ups

Describe this

ELECTRICITY

Don't say

  • power
  • lightning
  • current
  • shock
  • volt
TABOO!

Say any of the five and your team loses the word.

A round of Taboo on the big screen

A proper game night, with no setup tax.

You open Neegma on your laptop and cast it to the TV. A QR code fills the screen. Everyone scans it from the sofa, picks a name and joins in under a minute. Nobody downloads anything, and nobody makes an account.

You split the room into two teams and start Taboo. Someone has to describe electricity without saying power, current or lightning, while their team shouts over each other and the other side watches for a slip.

The scoreboard moves on the TV after every round. Three games later someone is demanding a rematch, and nobody has touched their phone except to play.

You set it up in two minutes. Your friends do the rest.

17 games. Zero arguments about the rules.

Neegma keeps the timer, the rules and the score, so the host gets to play too. A few that always land at a party:

  • Charades

One person gets the word and everyone else guesses from the flailing. It makes clever people look ridiculous in the best possible way.

    4 to 50 players

  • Taboo

Describe the word without the five words you would actually use. Everyone thinks they will be good at this. Almost nobody is.

    4 to 50 players

  • Telepathy

Everyone answers the same prompt in secret and scores by matching the room. Find out which of your friends really think alike.

    3 to 20 players

  • Find the Mole

Everyone gets the secret word except the Mole, who only gets the category and has to bluff a clue. Then the room votes.

    3 to 20 players

  • Villagers & Wolves

Wolves hide among the villagers and the village votes someone out every round. The longer, louder game for a bigger group.

    5 to 30 players

  • Two Truths and a Lie

Two true things, one lie, and a room that thinks it knows you. Still the most revealing game at any party.

    3 to 30 players

Plus Concentration, Who Said It, Crack the Code, Song Association, Word Art and Bingo, quick-fire rounds like Unscramble and Odd One Out, and Trivia you write about your own friends in the Playground.

See every game

On the sofa, on a call, or at the venue.

In your living room

Cast the host screen to your TV with Chromecast, AirPlay or an HDMI cable. Everyone scans in from the sofa, and nobody huddles round a laptop.

On a video call

Share your screen on Zoom, FaceTime or Google Meet while friends play from their own phones. Made for long-distance friends, family across cities and remote date nights.

At a birthday

Split the room into up to 5 teams and let each team pick its own name. Run three or four games as a proper game show, and the winners get the bragging rights.

One-host sessions

Game night, no phones needed.

Choose One host and run the whole night from the TV while the room answers out loud. Only your device needs a connection. Neegma keeps the prompts, the timer and the score, so everyone stays looking at each other.

11 games play this way, including Charades, Taboo, Telepathy and Song Association. Missing Letter, Odd One Out and Unscramble play Hot Seat, with each question going to one player or team against the clock.

The afternoon before

  • Create a session and choose Schedule for later
  • Drop the share poster in the group chat
  • Pick three or four games, or buy a party template
  • Check your laptop or phone can cast to the TV

As guests arrive

  • Put the QR code on the TV so everyone can scan in
  • Leave the code up for anyone running late
  • Split the room into teams and let each one pick a name

Once you're playing

  • Open with something easy, like Telepathy
  • Show the leaderboard between games
  • Save the loudest game for last
